Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes. Botox is typically contraindicated for people 65 years and older for coverage of the forehead and Glabellar lines. Botox is contraindicated in the presence of infection at the proposed injection site(s) and in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation.
Patients with neurological disorders such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myasthenia gravis, or Lambert -Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk for serious side effects.
Caution is required when coadministering with animoglycosides or other agents interfering with neuromuscular transmission. The affects of Botox treatment during pregnancy and for lactating women have not been studied to my satisfaction, thus I would not feel comfortable in injecting during this time.
Juvederm should not be used in patients who have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphalaxis or with a history of multiple severe allergies. Juvederm should not be used in patients with allergies to Gram Positive bacterial proteins or with any history of allergic reaction to Lidocaine. Treatment would not be performed if any noted inflammatory process or suspected infection to treatment site is present.
Pricing for Botox is per unit and based on number of units administered. Pricing for Juvederm is priced per syringe. Number of syringes required to treat a client will differ from person to person and be dependent upon region(s) treated. In nearly all cases I am finding that 1/2 the amount of product is required to achieve optimal results with the implementation of the Artiste assisted injection system, in comparison to traditional methods of injecting. You can get an estimate by contacting me or by completing the online estimate form.

Upon scheduling your appointment, I will notify you of pre-treatment care options which would include the taking of Arnica a natural sublingual supplement that decreases the risk for an inflammatory response/swelling, bruising and assists with the natural healing process. This also comes in a topical gel or cream form that I recommend post procedure. I will ask that you avoid any blood thinning supplements or NSAIDS and limit alcohol intake several days prior to procedure.
Typically after treatment you do not want to perform any strenuous exercise that will raise your core body temperature, or experience great temperature changes, thus no sauna’s or hot tubs or swimming in Sedona’s cold creek. If having received Botox you will be required to maintain an upright position for at least 4 hours post procedure, as to keep product from spreading to any adjacent muscle/tissue structures.
Preferable make-up should be applied as usual the following day, as to avoid transferring any bacteria to injection sites immediately following treatment. I do advise post gentle icing for avoidance of swelling/brusing and the application of Arnica cream or gel, with the continued use of sublingual Arnica.

However, unless unusual circumstance warrant a mobile visit, it is recommended to schedule treatment at my office. Also keep in mind that there is an additional service charge for mobile treatments.
Treatment availability is based on my schedule. Keep in mind, however, that due to the unusual degree of personal care I give to each client, I will see no more than 3 clients per day. It is my desire to see clients based on their needs, i.e. important events , time allotment in Sedona, etc. I am open to seeing clients on both weekend days and evenings if this is a necessity in meeting your needs.
